POSITION SUMMARY: This full-time position involves teaching 4 sections of upper school science, including Honors Biology, Neuroscience (if possible), and advising a group of upper school students. Knowledge of teaching lab science with a student-centered approach is required. There are also opportunities to coach sports and/or internal clubs in addition to teaching/advising.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Compliance & Community Commitment:

  • Teach 4 sections of upper school lab science
  • Advisor to a group of upper school students

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Required:
    • B.S. in Biology, Engineering, Education, or a similar field
    • Knowledge of teaching lab science with a student-centered approach
    • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with fellow teachers and administrators
    • Skilled at integrating technology as a tool to advance student learning
  • Preferred:
    • Previous experience teaching Biology
    • Knowledge of computer science and/or Robotics
    • Willingness to coach a team sport or Robotics

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Moving between various classroom and lab spaces
  • Regular physical activity, including demonstrating lab procedures, moving lab materials
  • Exposure to chemicals used in biology classrooms

COMPENSATION: Salary commensurate with experience.
  • Minimum Annual Salary: $65,000
  • Maximum Annual Salary: $110,000
  • Other compensation: Stipends available for coaching or other additional duties
