Affording a St. Andrew's Education

An independent school education is a costly yet beneficial investment, and many families are concerned about their ability to afford such an education. St. Andrew’s understands this concern and is committed to making our program affordable to all qualified students to the extent that our resources allow.

At St. Andrew’s, financial aid is based solely upon demonstrated financial need. To help determine each family’s need, St. Andrew’s subscribes to Clarity for financial aid processing and assessment.

Families should expect to contribute to their child’s educational expenses to the greatest extent they are able, given their economic situation. Financial aid awards vary by grade level and situation and provide families from a range of socio-economic backgrounds access to affording a St. Andrew’s education. Financial aid awards are available only for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Important Dates and Deadlines

  • October 1
    Financial Aid applications for currently enrolled students and new applicants will be accepted starting October 1. 
  • November 11
    Financial Aid applications and supporting financial documents are due for currently enrolled students on November 11.
  • January 15
    Financial Aid applications and supporting financial documents are due for new prospective students on January 15.
  • February & March
    February
    Currently enrolled students will receive financial aid decisions when re-enrollment opens in February.
    March 7
    Newly admitted students will receive financial aid decisions March 7.

Financial Aid Overview

Any current or prospective student (PK through Grade 12) may apply for financial aid, which entails submitting the online aid application and requested financial documents.

Personal tax returns and W-2s will be received directly from the IRS via FORM 4506-C.

Clarity assesses the family's current financial status. Common factors taken into consideration are family income, assets, debts, family size, age of parents, number of children attending tuition-based institutions, home equity, and certain other expenses.

Clarity analyzes the information on the application to estimate what the family can pay toward education expenses. This amount is not binding and does not imply what kind of financial assistance will be given by the school.

The St. Andrew's Financial Aid Committee reviews each student's file carefully and reserves the right to adjust the amount of the recommended family contribution based upon school policy, demand, and supporting documentation.

  • Why did St. Andrew's choose CLARITY?

    We chose Clarity as our financial aid application provider in order to better serve both our current and prospective families. We are confident that this change is going to make the process of applying for financial aid easier for families. 

  • How does Clarity make it easier for me to apply for aid?

    Clarity offers a streamlined, mobile friendly application that can be completed in as short a time as 30 minutes. Additionally, Clarity removes the need to upload your 2022 W2s and 1040s by transferring them directly from the IRS. This reduces the amount of information that you will need to enter manually and makes it possible to complete the application quickly and efficiently. 

  • Is my information secure?

    St. Andrew's takes the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously.

    We are committed to the principle of anonymity. Individuals who are aware of financial aid recipients include the Financial Aid Committee, Admission Office staff, and certain key administrators who have a specific need to know.

    Clarity is certified for both GDPR and SOC2 and uses enterprise-level security standards including end-to-end encryption of all personally identifiable information. For more information, please refer to Clarity’s Privacy Policy. 

  • Can I complete my application on my phone or tablet?

    Yes. Clarity’s application is fully mobile-friendly so you have access wherever you are.

  • Will I still need to apply every year?

    Yes, you will need to submit a Clarity application each year in order to qualify for financial aid; however, Clarity retains your information from previous applications, so it will be easier to reapply.

  • Are there additional benefits for financial aid recipients?

    Yes. Auxiliary benefits for financial aid recipients are reviewed periodically and may vary from year to year.  Some additional benefits include free required  textbooks, subsidized bus service and extended care.

  • What additional requirements does St. Andrew's have for financial aid recipients?

    All financial aid recipients must inform the Business Office of $2,000 plus income increases.

    All financial aid recipients must inform the Business Office of outside scholarships and/or grants.

    All financial aid recipients must be current in their payment plan in order to re-enroll for the next academic year.

    Siblings of current financial aid recipients will not be considered for financial aid if the current payment plan(s) are not satisfied.

    A financial aid award for the next academic year will be withdrawn if the student account is not satisfied by May 1st of the current year.

    The Latino Student Fund is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for a strong academic foundation for PreK-12th grade students of Hispanic descent to promote higher education and professional leadership.     The Cooke Young Scholars Program is a selective five-year, pre-college scholarship for high-performing seventh grade students with financial need. It provides comprehensive academic and college advising, as well as financial support for school, Cooke-sponsored summer programs, internships, and other learning enrichment opportunities.
