Important Admission Deadlines

We use Ravenna to manage our application process.

For Preschool I and II

  • Apply

    You may submit the online application at any time prior to the deadline, along with the $50 application fee.  

    After the deadline, we will continue to accept applications on a space-available basis. Please contact the Admission Office for guidance at 240-477-1695. 
  • Interview

    A half-hour parent/guardian interview is required. You can schedule online via Ravenna or by calling 240-477-1700, or by emailing admission@saes.org. Additional date options and times are generally available if you call or email.
  • Visit

    The required student visit for pre-school lasts about 20 minutes and may take place before or after you decide to apply.

PreK- Grade 5

    We look forward to welcoming your student to our campus for a shadow visit. This visit will entail applicants being paired with a host and experiencing a portion of the day, with their same-aged peers who will be going into the grade that the applicant will be joining in the Fall. During the visit,  the homeroom teacher will administer a short assessment.

  • Additional Requirements

    WISC/WPPSI (optional): If your child has completed the WISC/WPPSI within the past 2 years, you can send those results to admission@saes.org. We find these assessments helpful to have a more full understanding of your child’s learning profile, but they are not required for admission. We will give equal consideration to applications with or without WISC/WPPSI results.

Grades 6-8

  • Additional Requirements

    All applicants are required to submit ONE of the following three choices. All options will be considered equivalently and we encourage you to choose the option which best represents your interests/strengths:

    1. Essay: Students can submit a brief essay on one of the topics provided in the admission application. Students should complete this essay on their own without assistance. We want to hear your perspective! Essays can be submitted via Ravenna or emailed to admission@saes.org.
     
    2. Project: Please send us a brief video or photos of a project that you completed, and of which you are particularly proud. This could include an art portfolio (please send photos only, no original artwork), a science project, a design project, a video of a concert or musical in which you performed--anything that represents your original work. Students must include a brief written description of the project (no more than one page) on the description form available in Ravenna.  Videos and photos can be emailed to admission@saes.org. Please note that any materials submitted will not be returned; please do not send original artwork. 
     
    3. SSAT or ISEE results: If you have taken the SSAT or ISEE, you can submit the official results, which must include the writing sample. Register at www.ssat.org or at www.iseetest.org and make sure that the scores will be sent directly to St. Andrew's Episcopal School (SAES). The SSAT school code for SAES is 6266. The ISEE school code for SAES is 211222.
  • Transcripts

    St. Andrew’s requires grades from the current marking period (quarter or trimester), as well as grades from the previous two years. Please complete the transcript release form and give it to your child's school. Transcripts can be sent via email or mail directly to the Admission Office. The transcript release form can be found on Ravenna, or downloaded here.
  • Recommendations

    A recommendation from your child's current Math and English teacher is required.
