Volunteers play a vital role in the alumni community. They are instrumental in keeping class members in contact with the school and with one another, and in supporting the many events, programs, and initiatives of the Alumni Association. Alumni Council
The Alumni Council serves as the governing body for the Alumni Association. Members can be nominated by any member of the alumni community, and nominations are reviewed by a committee comprised of administrators, faculty, and alumni. Council members serve a two-year term with the option to renew at their term's conclusion. -
Class Agent
Class Agents serve as the liaison between St. Andrew’s and their classmates, keeping them engaged and fostering class connections:- By gathering information, news and pictures from your classmates for Magazine’s class notes section
- By helping to promote alumni events, regional area events, and engagement opportunities
They also provide leadership for the fundraising efforts of his or her class each year, promoting participation and the importance of giving back:- By soliciting classmates through various forms of communication: letter/mail, email and social media
- By serving as an Advocate for our annual Giving Day in May

Reunion Co-Chair
St. Andrew's hosts Reunion annually in October. During the months preceding a milestone Reunion, the Reunion Co-Chairs will share information and generate excitement among their classmates, as well as encouraging attendance and participation in reunion giving. -
Black Alumni Collective
The Black Alumni Collective (BAC) endeavors to enrich the experiences of Black students and alumni of the St. Andrew's community through advocacy, mentorship, and fellowship. Alumni interested in volunteering with the BAC should email blackalumnicollective@saes.org to learn more.

Jennifer Hawkins '99
President
Alumni Council President Jennifer Hawkins is the Acting Division Chief, Women, Peace, and Security Division, for the US Department of State, living in Washington, D.C. She holds a BS from Syracuse University, a MSW from Howard University, and a Doctorate from the University of Southern California. Jennifer received the St. Andrew’s Thomas Shaw Award for Service at the 2024 Reunion.

Vice President
Alumni Council Vice President Emily Williams is currently the Director of Alumni Engagement and Lifelong Career Development at Harvard University Graduate School of Education. She has served as a St. Andrew’s class agent for over 10 years. She lives in Boston.

Brad Bennett '86
Brad currently lives in Montgomery, Alabama where he is a Director at Southern Poverty Law Center as well as an adjunct professor at Auburn University. He is an award-winning writer and editor with over 30 years of experience in journalism and corporate communications. Brad was an advisor to the Black Alumni Collective’s leadership team during their formation.

Ted Cage '85
Ted is the Principle Architect at Theodore A. Cage RA Architect and currently lives in Bethesda. Ted has served on the St. Andrew’s Board of Trustees, on the Master Planning Task Force, and as a Lions Fund volunteer.

Katie Chaires '13
Katie lives in Lawrence, Kansas and works in the International Division at the Kansas Department of Commerce covering foreign direct investment projects. She received her BA from Sewanee, the University of the South, and her MA from Johns Hopkins University.

Paige Cooper '93
Paige received her BA from Rollins College in Florida where she now resides. She is an active volunteer in her community, having recently served as President of the PTA for her son’s school and as Chairwoman of the Easter Seals' Annual Charity Luncheon.

Michael DiPaula-Coyle '98
Michael is a graduate of the University of St. Andrews, Scotland and King’s College, London. He has served in senior roles in international trade for IBM, the US Department of Commerce, and the US-India Business Council. Having returned from a posting in Singapore, he now lives in Chevy Chase. He received the St. Andrew’s Thomas Shaw Award for Service at the 2018 Reunion.

Julian Haas '22
Julian joins us as our first college-aged council member. He is currently studying Economics, Mathematics and Applied Data Science at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. He works at the university as a teaching assistant, researcher, and tutor.

Hannah lives in Bethesda and works at the Boston Consulting Group as the Director of Global Consumer Products Sector. She is an active member of the St. Andrew’s community as a parent of two current student Lions, as well as three younger children.

Graham currently works as a Consulting Director at NIIT. He is the parent of two current Upper School students and has been an active member of St. Andrew’s alumni community since his graduation. He lives in Silver Spring.

Alisa lives in New York City where she has worked in marketing for over 10 years, from financial services to food and technology. Currently, she is the Project Marketing Consultant at What’s App. She has served on the Alumni Council since 2016 and has been a Lions Fund volunteer for over 10 years.

Allie has a Masters Degree in Special Education from American University and currently works as the Special Educator at Parkmont School in Washington, D.C. Since graduating, she has stayed connected to St. Andrew’s by volunteering for Reunion events and serving as a class agent.

Madeline O'Brien '05
Madeline O'Brien recently moved back to the Washington, D.C. area, joining the St. Andrew’s Events Office as a Special Events Coordinator. She previously worked as St. Andrew’s Director of Special Events and Director of Alumni Affairs. She continues to be an active alumni volunteer.

After graduating from St. Andrew's, Drew received his BA from Ohio Wesleyan University. He is now in his 7th year of teaching, including 4 years at St. Andrew’s. He is currently pursuing his graduate degree in Education Leadership.

Jamee received her MA of Health Science, Physician Assistant at the University of Maryland and currently works in Washington, D.C. as the Physician Assistant for Bread for the City. She is also a member of the Black Alumni Collective (BAC) Leadership Team.
