Head Girls Basketball Coach

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, MD seeks a Head Varsity Girls Basketball coach  for the 2026-2027 school year.
The mission of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is to know and inspire each child in an inclusive community dedicated to exceptional teaching, learning, and service. 

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, strong organizational skills, a college degree, and successful experience coaching high school, AAU or college-level basketball. This is an exceptional opportunity for a coach to build upon and continue the tradition of the St. Andrew’s program. 

Compensation is contingent upon experience:
  • Minimum Salary:  $7,500
  • Maximum Salary: $10,000

Benefits: This coaching position is not entitled to benefits other than sick leave as required by the state of Maryland.

Principal duties include: 
  • Oversee the entire Girls Basketball program to include teaching the fundamentals of the sport, implementing team expectations, and creating an optimal team environment.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and academic excellence.
  • Possess strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Attend regularly scheduled practices and games. 
  • Create a preseason practice schedule.
  • Hires and selects assistant coaches in conjunction with the Director of Athletics. 
  • Attends admissions-related events that help attract scholar-athletes. 
  • Conducts out-of-season programs within league rules such as strength conditioning/leagues/off season workouts/recruiting events. 
  • Facilitate and navigate the college recruiting process with families.  
  • Interacts with student athletes of different ages and skill levels in a positive and professional manner. 
  • Embraces the core values of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School and models behavior consistent with those values.
